GFA Opens Registration for 2025/26 Season: Timeline, Fees, and Procedures

The Ghana Football Association has announced that the registration period for the upcoming 2025/26 football season will open on Monday, June 23, 2025. In accordance with GFA Regulations, all affiliated clubs must complete their registrations through the dedicated online portal, ensuring that preparations begin well ahead of the season’s launch.
The registration window will start precisely at 00:01 GMT on June 23, 2025, and will remain open until Sunday, August 24, 2025, at 23:59 GMT. This fixed period underscores the association’s commitment to strict scheduling, leaving no room for delays. Additionally, clubs are required to address any registration queries on their dashboard promptly. Every query must be resolved within three calendar days, including weekends and public holidays. Moreover, any unanswered queries must be finalized by Monday, September 1, 2025, at 23:59 GMT to ensure timely processing.
Special attention is given to queries stemming from the previous season. Should questions regarding the 2024/25 season remain unresolved on a club’s dashboard after May 30, 2025, these inquiries will automatically revert to that season, and clubs will then be required to re-register all affected players for the current season. This procedure is designed to secure accurate records and ensure that all team rosters are up to date.
A fundamental component of the registration process is the settlement of registration fees, which must be completed prior to advancing to the vetting stage. The fee structure is explicitly outlined: professional players will be charged GH₵50, amateur players GH₵10, and club officials a fee of GH₵50. Payments should be made to the designated GFA MTN Mobile Money (MOMO) number, 0557 927 057, and clubs must send a proof of payment to the Finance Department at finance@ghanafa.org. Importantly, these payments must be made at least two days before the deadline; payments made on the day before or on the deadline will not be accepted.
In keeping with GFA protocols, every club must submit complete, clear, and legible documentation. Any application accompanied by erroneous, fraudulent, or poorly scanned documents will be automatically rejected, with any resubmission requiring a fresh payment of the registration fee. For purposes of identity verification, the Ghana Card and passport remain the accepted documents for new registrations, transfers, and renewals. Clubs registering players under 15 years of age may alternatively submit a digital birth certificate, although passports are mandatory for all foreign players. Furthermore, clubs are obligated to update any outdated passport photographs currently stored in the system; failure to provide an updated image will result in the rejection of the application.
For clubs managing professional transfers, precision during registration is paramount. Before a player’s registration can be finalized on the FIFA Connect registration system, all domestic and international transfers must be processed via the Transfer Matching System (TMS). Clubs should meticulously verify that each player's name is accurately entered into the system to avoid any issues of double registration, which could lead to severe sanctions.
Looking ahead, these regulations are designed to streamline the registration process and reduce administrative discrepancies. The GFA’s clarified deadlines, strict documentation requirements, and transparent fee structure demonstrate a proactive approach to ensuring accountability and integrity in club management. With every measure aimed at enhancing both efficiency and fairness, the association is paving the way for a vibrant and well-organized football season that promises exciting prospects for clubs, players, officials, and fans alike. Adherence to these guidelines will be critical for all clubs as they prepare to engage in one of the most competitive football seasons in recent history.
