Coinbase introduces LinkedIn Executive as new Data Chief
Cryptocurrency Exchange Startup Coinbase has hired LinkedIn Head of Analytics and Data Science.
Michael Li, a senior LinkedIn manager who has spent more than seven years with the professional networking platform, will assume the role of Vice President of Data, according to a blog post published Tuesday.
His career has so far focused on the integration of data into financial services, e-commerce and social networks, he wrote in the post. He believes that there are “endless possibilities” to use data in the cryptocurrency and blockchain space.
“I’m excited about the ability to define and evolve the role that data can play in a rapidly evolving space, combining innovative thinking to solve new challenges with lessons learned from my past,” Nws hais.
“Data will be essential to bolster Coinbase’s mission and strategy of delivering the most trusted and easy-to-use cryptocurrency products and services. I feel privileged to take on this challenging and rewarding new role to begin the next chapter of my career. »
With this latest attitude, Coinbase continues its years of thrust to expand its leadership team. In the past ten months, the Exchange has hired Vice President of Finance, Communications and Engineering, as well as senior finance and compliance officers.
In particular, Li is not the first LinkedIn manager to join the Coinbase series. In March, Coinbase announced that Emilie Choi has joined to drive the acquisition.
Most recently, the company announced it would hire more than 100 new employees for its recently opened office in New York next year.
