Ripple's XRP: What You NEED To Know Before Buying XRP

StormGain Review

  1. @9:22 – The single most important piece of info in the video. xrp proponents like to readily admit that ripple is centralized but try to claim that the token they created (out of thin air via instamine) is decentralized. So if xrp is actually decentralized, how come a 3rd party can freeze the funds in your account if you do something that they don’t like? Does anybody think that ripple will not do the same to more accounts if the government tells them to? This is the smoking gun that should end the debate once and for all. xrp is definitely centralized and is nothing more than digital fiat for the banks, not the people.

Edit – Decided to do a little more digging into the ability of ripple to freeze xrp and there is some confusion on mine and Altcoin Daily’s part. Taken from,

“Recently, Ripple ordered Bitstamp to freeze the funds and reverse the transactions of Jed McCaleb, Ripple’s co-founder, after he tried to trade a large volume of XRP. That amount was larger than was allowed by a contract that McCaleb had signed with Ripple. Bitstamp, the exchange mediating the transaction, froze McCaleb’s funds, at the request of Ripple Labs.”

If this is true then the situation regarding xrp funds being frozen is slightly better. Just. They (ripple) cannot freeze your xrp electronically it seems, but they have shown that they are willing to engage in certain tactics to stop somebody from selling them. They are definitely monitoring the ledger and have no issue with censoring transactions we can deduce.

Users do however have the ability to set several “freeze” parameters whilst issuing other assets/currencies via gateways. This may be where some of the confusion is coming from, probably something to look into..

  2. Forget abt this decentralized or centralized. I personally believe that whatever it’s created by a human, it will be controlled. Period.

  3. I’m under the belief that, in order to freeze an xrp account, one would need the private keys to that specific wallet, have some type of smart contract in place or flat out have legal regulation in place for the “owner” to not be able to cash out or move funds

  4. XRP is the best digital asset ever
Ripple is centralized, have a fantastic team working there. No bulshit of hard fork BTC cash & sv. No proof of work..
Thanks ho cares when we can increase our wealth holding XRP.
I also hold BTC and love the project but would love to see better utility.

  5. Leads to the question gold or BTC? XRP is just byproduct of banking system that doesn’t change core issues with the monetary system

  6. for those who haven’t added xrp to their portfolio i would suggest to put your ego aside and dig deeper into the facts. i believe it has the biggest use case but there will be multiple winners as well. also xrp is a open ledger there will be multiple use cases for it not just ripple utilizing it.

  7. +intiferino They are allowed to release up to 1 billion per month due to the terms of their escrow agreement. Furthermore, the overall supply (not circulating) has actually decreased over the span of time that you specified. In addition, Ethereum’s rate of inflation encroaches 15% (in terms of overall supply); that is a much more detrimental phenomena then the one you claim.

  8. How do you claim your just presenting facts when most of what you say is just opinions? Facts are proof not what many believe statements.

  9. P3DHeem Dude, they can’t “freeze” accounts on the ledger, only gateways like Binance can do that. But if you control your keys, then nobody can touch you. That’s not even debatable.

  10. Thanks for the video, I never really took the time to learn the details about xrp. Tech-wise it doesn’t excite me but it may be a good short-mid term investment. That is unless ripple has the ability to increase the 100 billion xrp limit?

  11. Hey you have some of your facts wrong. They are One hundred billion XRP in existence. How can 9 account have over One hundred billion. You probably meant to say one billion. If so that’s just about 9% of totally coins.

  12. +sneaking_ weasel why do you care so much about the freezing account “issue”?! in my 38 years of existance my bank account was never frozen…was yours?
actually i want someone to be able to freeze an account if it is proven that lets say some human trafficking ring is using that particular account…

  13. +Falk Mattern I care so much because the original idea behind cryptocurrency what financial sovereignty and an un-censorable medium of transfer. Governments will always give extreme examples like yours to scare people into giving up freedoms. Consider this, perhaps the law may change one day and you may find yourself on the wrong side of it. It could be something as mundane as a comment you posted on social media years ago that just now became illegal. Would you then like to have all of your assets frozen?

  14. @DrHolyFcuck 1. It uses a finite resource for virtually no gain. 2. It’s controlled by a minority.

  15. I’d like to believe more comments helps with the YouTube algorithm so more people can see it. But I have never got confirmation on that

  16. There are many channels about crypto on YouTube but nobody speaks about the danger inflating another bubble and how the NWO government is behind every bubble? We all can profit from this bubble but it doesn’t change the fact that we are greedy…

  17. Everybody is on hype, nobody says ,,is there a possibility that someday we can lose everything,,

  18. So basically, he makes xrp fud videos, over replies just to create fake YouTube results, so he can get free money, so he can buy more btc shitcoin.

  19. +DeepMindLab Visoneer What a wicked mind you have.. you must be feeling low.. how about some vitamins.
