The launch of the payment service, designed to facilitate operations with lightcoin, was scheduled for 21.00 Pacific Time. According to the information on the official site of LitePay, users will be able to register a debit card, which can be converted to lightcoins and used to pay for goods and services of partner companies, similar to bitcoin-processor Bitpay.
However, yesterday in an email newsletter LitePay reported that it was postponing the registration of payment cards, because at the moment it is “unreasonable” because of “hostile actions against crypto companies on the part of card issuers”.
It means that many banks banned the purchase of crypto currency on debit and credit cards, and the largest operators of payment cards Visa and Mastercard introduced a 5% commission for the purchase of crypto currency.
Representatives of LitePay reported that “they will continue to monitor the situation with regard to card services and will open the registration as soon as they can provide a reliable product”
